Estonian Flute Association (Eesti Flöödiühing or EFÜ) was established in the end of 1998. After a short period of preparations the real start of its activities was given with the opening meeting on 27 February 1999 when also a large part of its present members joined the society. There is now more than 70 members in the association.
The aim of the Estonian Flute Association is to connect the Estonian flute enthusiasts – performers, teachers, students, amateurs and just flute lovers. EFÜ stands for the development and self-supplement of its members, spreads concerning information and offers also possibilities for pleasant social life. The activities of the association are pointed also outwards – EFÜ organises concerts, master classes, reflects its activities in the press and distributes information about important events in flute life.
